We are passionate about welcoming you to Bi Pride UK.

If you have an access enquiry or concern, please get in touch with our Events Access & Inclusion Manager in a format accessible to you.

Step-Free Access

Our step-free tour of The People’s Palace outlines the main step-free route through the campus.

The step-free entrance to Bi Pride UK is via the pedestrian entrance to The People’s Palace. There is a ramp into the venue entrance hall and foyer. From the foyer, a lift provides access to the sensory room, changing room & touch-free disabled loo. Step-free routes from the foyer will take you to the Main Stage and outside through an open-air space to our stallholders in the Graduate Centre. Ground-level wheelchair seating is accessed via the lobby, and the central lift of the Centre will take you to the I Am Proud Stage raised wheelchair seating on floor 1A. All three Graduate Centre lifts will take you upstairs to further stalls and our Remembrance & Prayer Room. Our attended lift-accessible toilet & shower, attended by our partners at RevoLOOtion, is across a level courtyard outside the Graduate Centre.

Toilets

All toilets at Bi Pride UK may be used by people of any gender. Signs on each toilet will indicate whether there are stalls, urinals, or both inside. There are Disabled loos on the ground and lower-ground floors of The People’s Palace—including a touch-free Disabled loo on the lower ground level, accessed via lift—and all floors of the Graduate Centre. Our partners at RevoLOOtion will be attending a mobile Disabled toilet outside the Graduate Centre which is lift-accessible and contains toilet, shower, and adult changing facilities.

BSL Interpretation

All panels and performances will be BSL interpreted. Seats with clear sight of our interpreters at both stages will be clearly marked and reserved for those who require them.

Service Dogs

Service dogs are always welcome at Bi Pride UK. There are outdoor spaces at the entrance to The People’s Palace, between The People’s Palace and the Graduate Centre, and in the Graduate Square where service animals will be able to have a drink. Both the entrance and the square outside the Graduate Centre have grassy areas where service animals can relieve themselves.

Sensory Accommodations

The Simon Cremen Sensory Room

Our sensory room, just outside the Main Stage on the lower ground level of The People’s Palace, is open and accessible for the entirety of the event, and is well-stocked with sensory devices and equipment.

Ear Defenders

For guests who’d like an auditory reprieve whilst staying amongst the action, ear defenders will be available from the information desk at the Bi Pride UK 2023 entrance.

Changing Room

For the use of guests who may not feel safe travelling to the event in clothes that express who they are, the accessible toilets in The People’s Palace foyer and lower-ground corridor may be used as all-gender changing rooms.

Photography

If you do not want to be photographed by the Bi Pride UK team, please ask for one of our red wristbands on arrival when collecting your general entry wristband. Red wristbands will also be available inside the venue at the information desk on the ground floor.

Live Streaming

Performances and panels on both the Main Stage and I Am Proud Stage will be live-streamed for remote viewing. Main Stage performances will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch, while I Am Proud panels will be streamed on Facebook Live.

Access Assistants

Access Assistants, easily recognisable in yellow t-shirts printed with “Access Assistant”, will be roaming the venue to help with anything you might need whilst at Bi Pride UK.

Welfare

We are so excited to be partnering with Safe Only, a queer-run safety & welfare team that promotes safety by and for the LGBTQ+ community. Safe Only team members will be in the foyer throughout the event to assist with any welfare concerns you may have, and can help with emotional grounding, conflict resolution, de-escalation, and drug awareness & response.

Charging Station

A free phone charging station is available for use on the ground floor of the Graduate Centre, located just across from the lifts.

Water Stations

Water refilling stations are dotted throughout the venue to help you stay hydrated.

Food & Drink

Refreshments will be available in the Graduate Square outside the Graduate Centre.
Vendors’ individual dietary information is TBA, but vegan/vegetarian and gluten-free options will be included. You are also welcome to bring your own food, or leave Bi Pride UK and re-enter at any time during the event with your admission wristband.

COVID-19 & MPox

Bi Pride UK recognises that our immunocompromised community members continue to face additional barriers accessing in-person pride events. We encourage guests to be up-to-date on all vaccines they are eligible for, and support mask-wearing for those who feel comfortable doing so. If you are feeling unwell, for the safety of our community, please join in on the Bi Pride UK festivities via livestream.

Content Warnings

Everyone is welcome at Bi Pride UK, but not all performances and panels may be empowering for you.

Specific act content warnings are to be determined.

If any part of your experience at Bi Pride UK is triggering, Safe Only welfare staff will be present to support and hold space for you. If you need help finding them, one of our clearly-designated access assistants will escort you.

Age Guidelines

I Am Proud Stage

Where a discussion panel is adult-oriented, this will be designated in the event programme; however, none of our panel discussions are scripted, so parental supervision is advised.

Main Stage

Main Stage performances from 3 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. are selected to be family friendly, though their content may vary. From 6:30 p.m. onwards, acts are more adult-oriented, including our comedy and burlesque artists.
